The short film Mãe velha: memórias de uma pajé tells the story of Francisca Tembé in 10 minutes. An indigenous woman of the Tembé-Tenetehar ethnic group, Francisca lives in and is inhabited by the Alto Rio Guamá Indigenous Land. Narrating her journey as a pajé woman, midwife and indigenous health agent, Francisca recalls the aspects of health and illness anchored in the ways of healing her relatives. Mãe velha's journey reveals the processes of tension in the health of indigenous peoples in Brazil and reaffirms the need to safeguard traditional knowledge to ensure the well-being of these populations. The production was nominated for best Brazilian documentary.
